Bristlecone Detail 16x20Added 12 months ago by lvzoria via Andrew Quist With examples dating back some 4,000 years, the Bristlecone Pine is among the oldest living organisms on the planet. So old, in fact, that they helped refine the process of carbon dating. Native to incredibly harsh environments, the extremely dense, resinous tree captured here in a dramatic black-and-white photograph by photographer Andrew Quist is a picturesque example of this tree species gnarled, weathered existence.
