Woman And Monkeys 47x14
Added 10 months ago by anzeng via Nouvelles Images Outside of the pervasive Picasso, few other artists have influenced the world of modern art more than Henri Matisse (1869-1954). After realizing an interest in art at age 21, Matisse explored styles ranging from traditional impressionism to pointillism and Fauvism, in which he would create a series of gouaches découpées using solid swaths of gouache-stained paper. Signifying distance and volume, Matisse’s use of blue became a hallmark of his later work, of which this digital print is a wonderful example.
