Joe Colombo’s first great piece, his low-slung three-piece 4801 chair, was manufactured by Kartell in 1965 and stands as the only piece the company has ever made entirely out of wood. Using technology that reproduces its sinuous, curving lines, the sought-after seat was reissued in plastic earlier this year. This sleek chair is made in the same proportions as the Colombo original and fitted together without any metal parts or glue.
