One of the most important industrial designers of the 20th century, Achille Castiglioni is perhaps best known for the visionary lamps he created for FLOS. The iconic Acro floor lamp, which Castiglioni designed with his brother, Pier Giacomo, was modeled after a streetlight. When the light debuted in 1962, two people moved it around by inserting a broomstick through the hole in its rectangular marble base.
