The handmade tradition imparts a personal touch to textile goods. Found Object honors India’s artisan heritage through the creation of this exquisite fringed scarf, repurposed from vintage silk saris featuring beautiful motifs of flowers, birds, and geometrical shapes. The slight wave effect is created by the meticulous hand-stitched embroidery in the Kantha style, popular in Bangladesh and West Bengal. As a scarf, shawl, wrap, or throw, this piece is a striking fusion of Indian tradition and contemporary fashion.
Siblings Salvo Stoch and Juditha Sakinofsky started Found Object in 2011. Both have a design background and share a passion for traveling. Together with their team they scour the world for artisanal items including furniture, textiles, jewelry, and leather goods. Always re-discovering and often re-purposing, the brand is stationed in Brooklyn, New York.
