Created by Iskos — Berlin for Versus, Basset’s sculptural language is simple and clear. Composed of two elements, a horizontal “pillow” for a seat and a vertical “duvet” at the back that wraps around the cushion—embracing it from the sides—the seat’s shape is accentuated with marked piping, giving it an instantly recognizable silhouette or design signature. In the designers’ own words, “We wanted to design a compact but comfortable ‘family’ of sofas that harkened back to classic soft furniture styles—especially to the post WW2 period”. They’ve clearly succeeded.
Seat height: 15.75". Founded by Aleksej Iskos and Boris Berlin, Iskos — Berlin works within the fields of industrial, furniture, and graphic design, experimenting with new technologies and materials to explore their impact on everyday objects.
