In the photographer’s own words: "The thunderous waves crashing against El Malecon managed to wake me up pretty early, even in my 17th floor Havana hotel room. Soon after, a man who'd been watching me photograph worked up the nerve to join. Eventually, a particularly big wave forced him to jump climb up a pole, creating a comical Cuban moment." A photograph for those with a conscience, a portion of the proceeds for each photo sold is donated to the American Red Cross to help with the Hurricane Sandy relief effort.
