The construction of New York City’s iconic Brooklyn Bridge started in 1869 and continued for 14 years. John Roebling, a German immigrant who had worked for his government as a bridge and road builder, suggested a bridge across the East River after a fated ferry ride that ended up stuck in the ice. This reproduction giclée print from Old Blueprints captures the intricate details of the original plan in traditional white on blue.
