This vintage dual-sided 1960s health chart features the words “Cell Structure and Tissues” with full color graphics depicting cells and how they function. The other side is titled, “Leading Causes of Death” and features gray scale graphics with somewhat disturbing imagery of various causes of death including Influenza and Pneumonia, Suicide and Diseases of Newborn. The poster has been printed on thick paper that is nearly paperboard weight. This chart is retro art in its own right and a must-get for health science lovers.

This chart is straight from the “CRAM New Era Charts for the Teaching and Development of Health, Safety and Personality.” Illustrations are by Ernest W. Beck with consulting from textbook author, James H. Otto. The well-preserved chart is a large poster size. Typical imperfections consistent with age and use.
