Brooklyn Slate’s elegant and ecological cheese boards originate from co-founder Kristy Hadeka’s family quarry in upstate New York. Each smooth slate surface is selected by hand before being sized, shaped, and artfully chipped at the edges by Hadeka and her partner Sean Tice back in their native borough. This board’s generous size creates a distinctive, rough-hewn surface for assorted cheeses—and some smoked meats, perhaps? The included soapstone chalk allows you to identify hors d’oeuvres while enhancing the board’s rustic, homegrown allure.
Packaged in a reusable burlap bag. Includes soapstone chalk. Non-slip, padded feet. Slate is washed and treated with a food-safe sealant. Thickness varies, but measures at least .4". To preserve, wipe down with a drop or two of food-safe mineral oil twice a year. Mineral oil helps protect the integrity of the slate and maintains a slightly polished look.
