Charles and Ray Eames were mesmerized by elephants. They created a molded plywood model of the gentle giant, but it never went into production because its fabrication methods were so complex. Vitra later produced a polypropylene version of the Eames Elephant for children—the audience it was originally intended for. With its whimsical shape and smooth skin, this friendly creature will enchant youngsters and collectors alike.
Designed 1945. Vitra makes innovative contemporary and classic furniture for the home, office, and public spaces.
