Designer Victoria Bekerman isn’t jaded after years spent living in the Big Apple. In fact, it was only after moving to New York from her native Argentina that she found her life’s calling, and NYC is where she continues to find her inspiration. Her designs reflect the grit and glam of the city; her materials are calculatedly chosen to reflect that juxtaposition. The Floria Necklace, made with vintage Japanese glass and wood beads, is a perfect paradigm of the Brooklyn-based designer’s influences.
After earning a degree in International Affairs from Buenos Aires University, Argentina native Victoria Bekerman moved to New York City. There she studied jewelry making under Robert Streppone and Hiroko M. Streppone, and discovered her life’s calling as a designer. In 2010, Bekerman launched an eponymous line of minimal, city-inspired jewelry to resounding fanfare.
