The traditionally made pieces from Brush Factory’s furniture line, Brighton Exchange, embrace the notion that less is more. The Baltic Birch plywood panel of this Gradient Shelf is screen-printed by hand using a split-fountain technique, which blankets its natural wood grain in a mesmerizing color fade. Supported by a solid hardwood frame, the piece is crafted by hand at the design studio’s Cincinnati workshop.
Hayes Shanesy and Rosie Kovacs founded Cincinnati design studio Brush Factory in 2009. Fusing their skills in industrial and fashion design, the duo crafts all of its thoughtfully shaped, minimally embellished work by hand. In addition to making custom pieces, its projects include the furniture line Brighton Exchange and Villager, a collection of organic cotton bags.
