In photographer James Whitlow Delano’s words: "This photograph was made in Pagan, Burma in 1996, a time when the regime seemed to be slowly opening the door. The people had found a certain degree of contentment within the parameters they were allowed, but above all, there was a grace in the way they drew upon many centuries of tradition to guide them through trying times." A photograph for those with a conscience, a portion of the proceeds for each photo sold is donated to the American Red Cross to help with the Hurricane Sandy relief effort.
