This poster is based on a portrait of Jerry Garcia that Milton Glaser originally created for Rolling Stone. He later chose to use it on an advertisement for his 2000 show at the American Institute of Graphic Art. “It shows Garcia beginning to fade from memory,” Glaser said, “even though his music may endure.”
