“From a design perspective,” says Michael Turri about L'Arc-en-Ciel, “I chose to explore the physical principle of Brownian Motion—the seemingly random movement of particles suspended in a liquid or gas.” In laymen’s terms: WHOA! The L'Arc-en-Ciel includes a special control box with upgraded electronics and seven dimmable electroluminescent wire glass block light sculptures. (It’s so on!) Handcrafted and numbered by the designer, this one-of-a-kind lighting sculpture includes a signed beta bloc sketch.
The 7 Glass blocks are each 6"H, 6"W, 4"D and weighs 4 lbs each. The Control Box is 2.25"H, 5.5"W, 7.5"D and weighs 2 lbs. The control box is capable of powering up to seven blocks. There's a high-pitched hum from these blocs, but anything below full brightness makes the noise almost disappear.
