Artist Steve Shanabruch has a goal, and it’s a rather lofty one. With The Chicago Neighborhoods Project, he aims to create a logo for all of Chicago’s official community areas, as well as many of the city’s most famous neighborhoods. He began the ongoing project in November 2011 in order to grow as a designer and learn more about the city he loves so dearly. The logo on this digital print is partly based on his personal knowledge of the area, but also inspired by conversations with residents and historical research. Call it one designer’s take on Chicago.
