This cast porcelain vase turns trash to treasure with some truly stunning results. The work is from a series of pieces inspired by detritus collected in Holland and was conceived for Middle Kingdom by Dutch designer Foekje Fleur van Duin. An uncanny simulacrum of an everyday lotion container, the sage green vessel makes an ironic statement on our modern “throw away” culture, while celebrating beauty where it would normally be overlooked.
