Basotho Blankets are traditionally given at birth, to mark the transition to adulthood, and at weddings. Mark a milestone of your own or just wrap up for the winter. Woven with the first shear of a lamb, each vibrant textile is exceptionally soft, durable, and capable of chasing the chill away, even in the high altitude of the Lesotho mountains.

Purveyor SHNU is introducing African textiles to the rest of the world. Its Basotho blankets are woven with history dating to the 1860s, when they replaced animal skins as the garment of choice. Each one is still made with traditional methods. A portion of proceeds goes back to the Lesotho kingdom, sustaining this tribal craft and encouraging cultural dialogue.
