This vibrant bowl is inspired by the Moucharabieh, a screen built out of small wooden elements to form a complex geometrical scheme. This meticulous technique was traditionally used on windows, balconies, ceilings, vaults, and furniture throughout the Eastern Mediterranean. When made into a window, it allowed the viewer to observe without being seen, thus earning it the nickname jalousie (or jealousy) window.
