The Original Mono Recordings collects Bob Dylan's first eight albums, mixing them as they were originally meant to be heard: in mono—one channel of powerful sound, direct and immediate. These mono-version albums have never been available on CD and will not be released individually. Packaged in paper sleeves, each fits into a deluxe slipcase. This box set includes a 64-page book with new photos, album information, and liner notes from eminent rock historian Greil Marcus.
Each disc comes in its own individual jacket, which faithfully replicates the original album artwork, complete with labels and stickers that were found on the original 1960s releases. The eight albums are: Bob Dylan (1962); The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan (1963); The Times They Are A-Changin’ (1964); Another Side of Bob Dylan (1964); Bringing It All Back Home (1965); Highway 61 Revisted (1965); Blonde on Blonde (1966); John Wesley Harding (1967).
