When St. Catherine’s College commissioned Arne Jacobsen to build an extension for its school, the multitalented designer got to create the surrounding landscape and interior furniture, too. One resulting high-backed chair evolved into the iconic Oxford, which Fritz Hansen recently restyled in honor of the college’s 50th anniversary. True to its original design, the new edition sits at a fixed height that’s free of bulging levers. Its backrest and seat are upholstered in two separate sections, exposing its elegant oak shell.
