One of the most important industrial designers of the 20th century, Achille Castiglioni is perhaps best known for the visionary lamps he created for FLOS. A master of modern lighting, he often adapted, referenced, or improved upon existing objects in his inventive, witty work. The Parentesi pendant is made from an adjustable spotlight, which can be moved up and down a cable that hangs from a hook in the ceiling. A cast-iron weight, which barely touches the floor, keeps the wire straight and tense.
Designed 1970. On/off switch on fixture. Hardwiring required. Base is 4.3" in diameter. Lamp moves vertically by sliding over steel tube, which is 22.8" long. Cord length: 13.1'.
