Thisporcelain Ribbed Vase from Middle Kingdom turns trash into treasure with some truly stunning results. Created in collaboration with Foekje Fleur van Duin, the piece is part of the Dutch designer’s Bottle series, which uses debris collected from riverbanks in Holland to create casts for colored clay vases. Mimicking the faded look of the original vessel it was molded after, the container’sgrainy, chalk-like exterior is left bare, while its interior is finished with a smooth glaze.
