It’s Rio de Janeiro…but not! The flavor of this vibrant Brazilian metropolis is distilled, remixed, and set free in the wild, anime-inspired Rio by the Berlin-based digital design collective, eBoy. In a style that feels like a mad combination of Where’s Waldo and Akira, eBoy creates an 8-bit visual narrative in which the depicted actions provide both comic relief and subtle social criticism. This extra-large digital print—measuring 47” wide and 33” in height—is a spectacular format for taking in such intricate illustration work.
CMYK offset digital print. Unframed. See below for exact measurements.

Based in Berlin’s dynamic art scene, eBoy is a multidisciplinary digital design studio run by Kai Vermehr, Steffen Sauerteig, and Svend Smital. eBoy creates remarkably detailed 8-bit illustrations—called “Pixorama”—as well as toys and animation. Its collaborations include wall decals for Blik and print advertising for Coca-Cola’s Open Happiness campaign in Belfast.
