Encouraged to make her own paper dolls as a child in the Philippines, Apol Massebieau has always loved creating with her own two hands. Initially working as a writer and reporter, the artist could not resist the pull toward a more tactile vocation. Molded from a handwoven fabric of palm tree bark, this semi-rigid small bowl is a beautiful blend of sculpture and textile.
Recommended for use as a holder for potted plants, a fruit or bread bowl, or a holder for keys and other accessories. Water-resistant, but not waterproof. The handwoven fabric consists of an authentic, organic fiber from the stripped bark of a palm tree. Due to the nature of the sculpting process, no two pieces are alike. Plants not included.
