Multidisciplinary studio Domestic Construction is on a mission to redefine the ordinary, starting with your floors. Artists Maureen Walsh and Trish Andersen cut intricate paper patterns by hand before digitally printing them on a polyester face and affixing it to a skid-resistant rubber backing. The result is an impossibly thin floor mat—a resilient, dynamic piece that puts ordinary rugs to shame.
Designed in collaboration with Sara Gates and Ethan Cook. Indoor/outdoor use. Avoid direct sunlight. Thin surface (approximately 0.125”) allows doors to pass over easily. Can be layered to create a thicker mat.
