German-born photographer Erwin Blumenfeld began his career as a Dadaist working in Berlin and Paris in the 1930s. Later, he garnered success as a famed fashion photographer for American Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Blumenfeld disdained mainstream conformity, and his images were infused with experimental energy.
