Images d'Orient combines the rich heritage of traditional Mediterranean crafts with modern materials and a contemporary color palette. This set of porcelain espresso cups is inspired by the mosaic, a meticulous, demanding traditional Mediterranean art form. The technique’s cut stones, called zellige, follow an aesthetic, harmonious order that is conveyed through the cups’ contrasting patterns. Packaged in a coordinating tin box, the set is a pleasure to give or keep.
Images d’Orient was founded in 2000 by brother-and-sister team Charbel Raphaël and Peggy Raphaël Dabar after a trip to their native Lebanon. Using PVC as its chief material, the brand’s contemporary collection of housewares honors the Mediterranean’s cultural heritage by recalling the distinctive history of the region’s traditional crafts and art forms.
