This sassy little clock will allow you to snooze, but if you oversleep, beware: Tocky will beep, jump, run, and hide until you get up to turn it off. Tech-savvy charmer Tocky features a touch-sensitive digital dial, a microphone to record your own sounds, and the ability to upload your favorite MP3s. Whether you want to wake up to the cluck of a rooster or your favorite metal band, feel confident knowing you’ll be the first person at the morning meeting.
Invented at MIT Media Lab by Gauri Nanda, founder of Nanda Home. Set snooze time 0-9min. Moves on wood and carpet; do not place on surface above 3 feet high. Requires 3 AAA batteries (not included). MP3 files may be uploaded with provided USB cable. 100MB of flash memory space, which translates to 6 hours of recorded sound using Tocky’s built-in microphone, or about 2 hours of MP3s. Space to upload up to 9 tracks; Tocky will play all 9 tracks as a playlist when the alarm sounds. It will begin with the current track shown in the PLAY screen, and then play each track in order. When the alarm sounds, Tocky moves around for 30 seconds and will continue making sounds for 10 minutes. Option to turn off rolling feature to use as a stationary alarm clock. Alarm time is visible from home screen.
