From sea to shining sea, each continental state is hand-drawn in a white outline of the United States. Permanently painted on a pliable chalkboard fabric, the map hangs between two wooden dowels—just like the one in your fourth grade classroom. A chalk holder hangs below, so you’ll always have a piece handy. When you’re tired of your doodles, just use a damp cloth to wipe clean and start fresh.
Handmade in New Jersey. As each map is drawn by hand, slight variations may occur. Chalk not included.

Determined to pursue creativity on her own terms, Rebecca Garcia left her visual coordinator job at Anthropologie to launch dirtsa studio in 2010. The New Jersey-based company, named for Garcia’s late grandmother, makes charming home accents that evoke the feel of a particularly spirited grade-school classroom and display a childlike appreciation for colorful design.
