A collaboration between master calligrapher Shinko Tanaka and Dwight Hwang, this signed and stamped reproduction gyotaku print depicts two “herabuna” (or “Crucian carps”) staring at a river shrimp. The calligraphy reads “魚心あれば、水心あり,” which means, “If a fish is friendly towards water, water will be kind to the fish,” or, more simply, “You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours.”
Scanned reproduction of an original gyotaku print by Dwight Hwang and Shinko Tanaka. Stamped and signed by the artist. Unframed.
