In the 1970s and ’80s, Jean-Michel Basquiat pulverized the barriers between high and low art. His works were more volatile and outwardly expressive than Haring’s, yet equally rife with social commentary. In striving for all things fresh, loud, uninhibited, and diverse, the Brooklyn-born artist came to epitomize urban culture. Part of the KOMONO Curated series presented in partnership with the Basquiat estate, the Winston Watchkeeps a snippet of Untitled—his 1984 acrylic and silkscreen on canvas—within arm’s reach.

Founded in 2009, KOMONO is on a mission to bring the world cool, street-style accessories. Designers Anton Jassens and Raf Maes are based in Belgium, but the label has garnered a major following all over Europe, Asia, and Australia. Its line of retro-futuristic watches, sunglasses, and apparel are updated, quirkier, and more colorful versions of classic designs.
