Mid Mod Mom founder Beatriz Macias didn’t know thrifting existed until she moved stateside from her native Colombia, when she and her husband furnished their West Coast apartment with Salvation Army finds. These days, the former architect puts her discerning eye to use by rooting out mid-century wares and crafty masterpieces, each with its own distinct, art-inspired flair. From gooseneck lamps and drip-glazed stoneware to teak animal figurines and Marimekko-inspired textiles, the imaginative and exotic flavor of her first-class finds can’t be beat.
