EarthSeaWarrior blurs the line between dreams and waking life with one-of-a-kind neo-nostalgic pieces created from vintage curiosities. Originally created by Italian designer Enzo Mari circa 1960, this Mid-Century Modernist lamp wobbles, but it won’t fall down. It features a weighted ball base that helps it bounce back when knocked over, a bright green cord, a rotating dimmer switch, and a silver bowl bulb for a clever play on symmetry.
Artist ursula manaf-pitt was primed to make curiosities since childhood: her mother displayed a pink shadow box filled with stuffed albino mice over her crib, and her father taught her about his antique lamp shop. Conceiving EarthSeaWarrior in 2009, ursula performs alchemy with antique bisque dolls, rare stones, and other vintage goods to create artistic anomalies.
