The Raymi Bracelet is formed using deeply polished tagua seeds. Each bead has its own unique texture, that upon close examination, resemble water-soaked stones found in the bottom of the ocean. With its elastic cotton cord, one size fits all! The piece is handmade in Peru by Mujus.
Approximately 2.2" diameter. Mujus’ signature material is the tagua seed, which comes from a palm tree that grows in Amazon rainforest. When ripe, the tagua fruit falls to the ground and is gathered and dried by local communities for a period of up to eight months, after which they become extremely hard and ivory-like. Since the seeds are harvested after they have fallen to the ground, there is no damage done to the rainforest during the harvesting process. As no two seeds are alike, each Mujus piece is unique.
