Vitra got its start in the 1950s manufacturing work by the Eameses and George Nelson. These days, the Swiss furniture company is an authoritative resource for world-class design. French design duo Ronan and Erwin Bouroullec borrowed shapes and colors from nature to inform this texturized mass called Algue. The modular plastic pieces—which hang in MoMA’s permanent collection as well as in our own NY headquarters—are linked together to form web-like curtains or opaque room dividers.
Designed 2004. Includes 25 pieces.
