Made of solid slate plucked from a family quarry in upstate New York, this Brooklyn Slate Cheese Board is a distinctive surface for your finest Gruyère. Hand-shaped for a rough-hewn, rustic look, it features padded, slip-resistant feet to prevent party fouls. Identify your favorite fromage right on the board with the included soapstone chalk.
Packaged in a burlap bag. Includes a soapstone pencil and cork feet. Slate is washed and treated with a food-safe sealant. Thickness varies, but measures at least 0.4". To preserve, wipe down with a drop or two of food-safe mineral oil twice a year—mineral oil helps protect the integrity of the slate and maintains a slightly polished look.
