French for basket, Panier is just that—but so much more. Introduced in 2006, it is the first object by Paris-based design stars Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Kartell. A container with a flat polycarbonate lid, Panier doubles as a coffee table. The result of rigorous technological and functional research, four modules form the four dividers of a shiny, transparent circle bursting into rays of light. Stack it, fill it with goodies or leave it empty, and enjoy its simple sculptural beauty.
