An age-old relaxation aid that creates an object to beautify your space and calm your mind, the tradition of artistically tended miniature trees was originally passed from China to Japan and has persisted since at least the 8th century. Gardenia is an easy-to-grow outdoor bonsai. Plant height varies from 8” to 12”. Plant arrives potted in a container.
All outdoor bonsai are hardy and require seasonal change. Upon receiving your bonsai, it is best to acclimate it in a shady area for one week. All outdoor bonsai prefer morning sun and afternoon shade. For winter temperatures below 20° F place your tree next to a wall that will act as a wind shield and “heel-in” the pot with a 2” to 3” covering of pine needles or mulch to mitigate temperature fluctuations. In colder areas, keep trees in a partially heated or unheated garage where temperatures stay above zero.
