Charles and Ray Eames were mesmerized by elephants. They created a molded plywood model of the gentle giant, but it never went into production because its fabrication methods were so complex. Vitra later produced a polypropylene version of the Eames Elephant for children—the audience it was originally intended for. With its whimsical shape and smooth skin, this friendly creature will enchant youngsters and collectors alike.
