Designed by Oiva Toikka in 1964, the Kastehelmi collection is inspired by its namesake: dewdrops. Toikka’s healthy love of experimentation led him to create a fantastic droplet-inspired design, which he originally developed as a technique to conceal joint marks on the surface of pressed glass pieces. As seen in this detailed transparent plate, the resulting surface structure creates a glistening effect that enhances the reflective beauty of the glass.
