Areaware works with a host of exciting designers to reimagine everyday necessities in unexpected, inventive forms. The Cargo Containers are a nod to designer Daniel Ballou’s hometown: the bustling port town of Long Beach, California. Like the massive cargo containers lining the city’s shipyards, this scaled-down version has a corrugated exterior and offers a sturdy, efficient home for various goods. The difference? You can move this ceramic, desk-friendly design with your own two hands.
Set of 2 ceramic containers: blue and white. Each has a removable lid. In addition to collaborating with Areaware, California-based Industrial designer Daniel Ballou operates his own design consulting studio, dashdot. Recently, his work was seen at Milan Design Week 2013 and an American Design Club exhibit in 2012.
