This is a photogrammetry scan of a late 17th century flintlock. Unlicke the matchlock the flintlock relies on striking a spark using a flint hammer to ignite the gunpowder in the pan. This made the weapon far more reliable and less time sensitive to use as the charge could be ignited at any time of the operators chosing.
