Description

For centuries, the Fountain of Peirene was a crucial source of fresh water for the city of Corinth. The Greeks and Romans considered it a sacred location where the great Pegasus was tamed by a local hero. The 3rd century facade that is still visible at the site today showcases the best of Roman architecture and engineering.
