Surrounded by a large scale coal mining operations which threaten it’s very existence, formerly a seat of the Lobkowicz family, Jezeří was an important cultural and social centre that was neglected in the Communist period and fell into long-term disrepair. Reconstruction work began in the late 1990s, but in view of the size of the building it is a long-term project The highly unusual experience of seeing the monument coming back to life is rewarding and visitors will be witness to the gradual restoration and resurrection of the former ”Gem of the Ore Mountains”
