LATEST UPDATE !!! True Nanite Spline Meshes have arrived. Unreal Engine 5.3 and 5.4 now supports Nanite Spline Meshes as they were always meant to be! With the first volume of these 8k Nanite assets, you will be able to construct hyper-realistic dirt roads and pathways. You just can't beat the look of true 3-dimensional meshes thanks to the power of Nanite. This set provides you with the option to have tire marks or no tire marks, puddles, or no puddles, straight sections and curved sections. Additionally, you can control the overall wetness or dryness, and the lightness or darkness of the color of the dirt - instructions are here.
Now with Unreal Engine 5.3 and up you can make use of Nanite Spline Meshes! Splines make it easy to draw out road paths quick and have it auto-populate with the Realistic Dirt Roads and Paths Nanite Meshes. Set up to use Nanite Spline Meshes in UE 5.3+ is easy, you can follow these few steps I outlined in these 5.3+ instructions. (5.4 now supports Nanite Spline Meshes by default)
IMPORTANT INFO: These are extremely dense Nanite meshes. They will take a good amount of time to load the first time you use them. How long it takes depends on your PC hardware. It may appear your computer is frozen, but please be patient and wait until the meshes load. Once they are loaded in they will behave normally like any standard mesh. This applies to the demo maps as well. This waiting period as it loads up only occurs on the first use of Nanite Meshes, afterwards it loads instantly.
