DEMO BUILD - check the stuff before you buy

This pack contains high quality and optimized blueprints of stone ruins whose shape can be modified. Everything is in scale, detailed and sharp. Assets were made using HISM (Hierarchical Instanced Static Meshes).

Bluperint Actors were made from static meshes (single stones) using HISM components.

All ruins BP assets are children blueprint classes made from BP_StoneRuins

You can carve/sculpt in any ruins actor using 3 shapes (sphere, cube, capsule). Simply click "+" next to " Despawner" option inside actors details. Thanks to that you can easily edit any ruins preserving the HISM system. Other fancy options are:

Extra Stones (use more mesh variants), Shuffle Extra Stones (change spawn seed of the above), Scale (individual stones), Max Draw Distance (disclaimer: it's not working with NANITE), Extra Collision Mesh (you're adding custom collision mesh to existing Actor), Heavy Optimized Geometry option where meshes with x10 less tris are loaded.

Scale whole Actors up and down and the stone texture scale will be automatically adjusted.

Oh, and there's also a modular stone tower (Ruins_09 collection).

Textures used here are tileable with additional baked ones for features like object normal, edge wear or dirt. Format: Diffuse/Albedo + NormalMap + RMA (Roughness, Metallic, AO). You can easily swap textures, adjust colors, edge wear, actor gradient and other parameters to create your own uniqe look of each asset.

There is one additional demo map showing Despawner in use.

Tested with Third Person template. First Person template will work too but you would have to decrease players collision capsule width (the default one is too wide to fit in some small towers).

RECOMENDATIONS:

  • Convert multiple ruins actors on your scene to PLA. This will greatly reduce drawcalls.

  • Enable NANITE on stone meshes if you can

  • To get rid of annoying asset selection: go to Project Settings -> type "instance" in search bar -> disable option called "Enable viewport static mesh instance selection". After that you don't need any of my helper boxes or helper icons. This feature is only available on the newer engine versions.

  • use Heavy Optimized Geometry option when your project doesn't need insane closeups on ruins.

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THIS PRODUCT FOR UE 4.27: there is a mouse drag&drop lag for bigger assets in editor window, please beaware of this. This pack natively supports UE 5.0 and above.
