Simon Bolivar (1783-1830) , ” El Libertador ” was a venezuelan military and political leader. He fought for freedom of the south America over Spanish Empire. However, his fight took many years to succeed and was incomplete. Still, he’s remembered as a great military leader who achieved great victories in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru… Many countries were liberated thanks to him and he led to existence Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Panama to their actual form.

This statue is located in Cours la Reine, Paris. Artwork of french sculptor Emmanuel Frémiet, it was ordered by Colombia. For the centenary of Bolívar death, in 1930, this copy was given to France.
