Description

Showcase

Openclay's Mars Map is designed to take audiences on a cinematic journey to Mars. This square map of Mars is offered with 100 tiles, with a total texture resolution 81,920 x 81,920, draped across Nanite mesh terrain, derived from real elevation data. The UE sun and sky system has been setup to offer blue sunsets and stark daylight, with the post process volume set to clamp exposure to provide predictable, reproducible shots.

Graphically, there are dynamic contour lines which can have their line width, linespacing, top and bottom colors changed (however, this is based on the Nanite geometry, so using this option when animated from far away or looking across the landscape will not be practical). The normal map comprises 81,920 pixels wide and 81,920 pixels high, and allows for normal flatness to be adjusted, changing the intensity of the terrain features to better suit the different artistic direction of the production.
